Dear Georgios,
I understand how it feels not to receive SMS while abroad. There could be reasons for this. Check if you are roaming with the MTN preferred roaming network in your location. You can check MTN preferred roaming networks using this link: https://www.mtnonline.com/personal/roaming-rates/
If you are not on the preferred roaming network, you can do a manual search on your device to choose any of the preferred networks with the steps below:
From ‘Settings’, click ‘More’
• Select ‘Mobile network’
• Select ‘Network operators’
• Select MTN SIM(either SIM1 or SIM2 as applicable)
• Click on ‘Search network’
• Select the preferred network provider from the list displayed on the device.

If the issue persist, you need to contact MTN customer care on any of the channels below for further investigation and resolution:
