SIM blocked, puk code gotten but I'm being asked for a pin after puk code

My SIM card is blocked and I have the puk code from my SIM pack but after inputting the code I am being asked to input and confirm a pin. which pin is it asking for. I have tried inputting 00000 and 0000.
