My MTN pocket MiFi is not charging. The MiFi is not coming on with a similar battery.

Please, my MTN pocket MiFi is not charging and it is not coming on. I tried using a similar battery to power it on but it is not working. I tried charging the battery of the mifi inside an itel phone that uses the same kind of battery but the battery is not charging. Please what should I do ?
