To share data with another MTN user, you need to create a 4-digit PIN for MTN Data Share. This PIN will be used to authorize any data transfer from your MTN line. To create a 4-digit PIN for MTN Data Share, follow these steps:
• Dial 1312*1# or text REG to 131. You will receive a default PIN via SMS.
• Dial 1312*5# or text Change OLD PIN NEW PIN NEW PIN to 131. For example, if your default PIN is 0000 and you want to change it to 1234, text Change 0000 1234 1234 to 131.
• You have successfully created a 4-digit PIN for MTN Data Share.
You can now use this PIN to share data with another MTN user by dialing 1312*4# or texting Transfer PHONE NUMBER DATA AMOUNT PIN to 131. For example, if you want to share 500MB with 08012345678, text Transfer 08012345678 500 1234 to 131.
You can also use the myMTN app to share data with another MTN user. Just download the app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store, log in with your MTN number, and tap on Data Gifting. You can then select the recipient’s number, the amount of data to share, and enter your PIN to confirm.
